Simon came into ATL Tailor in December 2023 with good news and bad news. Th good news was that he had just been given a huge promotion at work from a report writer to a senior financial analyst. The bad news was that he had never owned a suit and needed one for his first big presentation in four days!
Even though it may be an unfortunate reality, Simon knew that, in the business world, projecting a highly professional appearance is extremely important. And that’s doubly true when you’re going to be the focal point of everyone’s attention at a business formal event like a big presentation. And that’s why an off-the-rack suit would not do. Simon needed something perfectly tailored and sized to create an air of authority.
Luckily, the tailors at ATL knew just the thing for someone in Simon’s situation. They reached immediately for worsted wool, the best material to use for a highly professional look. And they didn’t even think about going with any color other than dark grey, the most formal-looking suit color (other than black, which can look too formal even for an event like this when combined with worssted wool).
We also added a variety of other premium features to enhance the professional look of the suit, including:
- Adding peak lapels to the suit.
- Going with a double-breasted jacket design, which conveys an air of authority.
- Adding a bit more shoulder padding and implementing a slight lift at the shoulder seam.
- Using a nipped waist technique to add a sleek sophistication to the suit.
- Adding a full lining, as opposed to the half lining seen on many less formal suits nowadays.
ATL Tailor specializes in working under strict deadlines, so we were able to get the suit design okayed by Simon and deliver his garment in 4 days – just in time for his presentation.
